24g Darts

Why is 24g one of the most popular darts weights?

A 24 gram darts set makes sense for a wide range of players and is amongst our best-selling weights with more than 500 different sets of 24g darts for sale on the Darts Corner website. Even at the very top of the sport, the 2023 PDC World Champion Michael Smith currently uses Shot Signature 24g darts and began the 2023 season as the PDC world number one!

The weight of your darts can influence how you play, as well as your style and enjoyment of the game. Read our ‘How To Choose The Best Darts Weight’ blog for an in-depth look at the different options of weights for your darts.

If you are playing with heavier darts (26g and above) and find that your darts are travelling in the air more indirect, similar to an arc lamp shape, then lighter darts 24g or below could be more suitable for you. A lighter dart will go straighter during flight as you will be using less effort to throw them.

Check out our full range of steel tip darts and, for heavier options, our 26g and 28g collections, and, for lighter choices, our 20g and 22g selections.

Professional 24g darts

The most famous professional player who uses 24g tungsten darts is Michael Smith. The 2023 PDC World Champion plays with his signature Shot Michael Smith Achieve Darts in PDC tournaments. These darts are made of 90% tungsten and have a center-weighted barrel, which Smith trusts to stay on top of his game and elevate him to throw at his best level.

The four-time Women’s World Champion Lisa Ashton also uses 24 gram tungsten darts, opting for the Legend Lisa Ashton Darts for her matches.

A 24g dart is a popular weight for some of the leading professionals in the game, but it is also a commonly used weight for players of all skill levels.
